The school was granted recognition by the Directorate of Education in 1991 and subsequently CBSE Affiliation came about in 1993. Guru Harkrishan Public School aims to impart quality education to students with a wider vision of developing their intellectual and spiritual potential to enable them to grow into individuals possessing integrity, self esteem, knowledge skills and values with awareness of social justice and world peace.

In the Girls’ Category, Prabhleen Kaur of Class XII-C secured 1st position and in the Junior Boys’ Category, Kartavya Gupta of Class VIII also made us proud by achieving 2nd position. Both the students showcased their exceptional talent, confidence, and mastery of the Punjabi language. Their recitation was both captivating and expressive and earned high praise from the judges. These accomplishments would not have been possible without the unwavering support and guidance of our dedicated teachers.
SCHOOL PICNIC FOR GRADE NURSERY TO III ORGANISED BY GHPS KAROL BAGH With an aim to foster social skills, physical activities,team building and a sense of community amongst the students, a class picnic for grade Nursery to III, was organised by Guru Harkrishan Public School Karol Bagh on 2nd of September,2024 The classes from Nursery to KG were taken to Two Little Monkeys where they enjoyed different fun filled activities and the classes from I to 3 were taken to Fun Melon in West Patel Nagar where they enjoyed different zones,i.e Ninza Zone, Toddler Zone Play Zone & Party Zone. The day was well spent in enjoying, singing, dancing and tasting delicious foods. The fun filled trip really catered to every aspect of child' growth and entertainment.
PROUD MOMENT FOR GHPS KAROL BAGH The students of middle and senior segment of Guru Harkrishan Public School Karol Bagh made their school proud by winning the meritorious second positions in the Zonal Cultural Competition of English Debate in both junior as well as senior categories of girls, which was held at GHPS Karol Bagh New Delhi on 28th of August,2024. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students representing nearly 15 schools. The topic for junior category was " Fully committed should be imposed on disposable plastic items" and for senior category , " A person exist only when read through English medium ". The competition gave the students a platform to exchange their different perspectives, opinions and thoughts and gave them a chance to honne their public speaking skills. The debaters' performance was evaluated by four rubrics_ diction, persuasiveness , rebuttals and overall presentation. The names of winners of junior category are: Dhriti Singh & Aradhya Tiwari from class 6B and from senior category _ Kangna Bhatija of class 9 A Prabhleen Kaur of class 12th C. GHPS KAROL BAGH ORGANISES THE SOCIAL SCIENCE,E.V.S & DIVINITY EXHIBITION With an aim to offer learning opportunities for the parents as well as the students, about the various dimensions of human society and culture, about the study of earth landscape & its environment and the moral values taught by Sikh Gurus, an exhibition of Social Science,E.V.S & Divinity was organised by G.H P S Karol Bagh on the eve of Parent Teacher Meeting on 24th of August,2024. in the school premises. The students prepared beautiful charts and models on layers of earth, environment, vegetation, Indian Constitution ,the coldest desert Indian Freedom Fighters, Globalisation, Minerals and Energy resources. The presentation on moral values taught by Sikh Gurus was also made by the students highlighting the importance of selfless service to mankind lived by Bhai Ghanhiya ji. The exhibition gave the students a platform to interact with people, exhibit their creative, aesthetic, kinaesthetic and speaking skills. Two students of primary segment of Guru Harkrishan Public School Karol made their presence felt by winning first and third positions respectively in both boys' and girls' category in zonal solo song competition which was held at GHPS Karol Bagh on 16th of August ,2024. In the girls' category,Bhavna of class 5th won the hearts of the judges by her mesmerizing voice and won the meritorious first position out of 10 school teams whereas Joy of class 4 A bagged the third position. The students were judged by the parameters of vocal technique , expression, pitch & rhythm. The competition gave the students a platform to bring out their musical talents. All the students gave their musical performance of singing Hindi songs to the best of their abilities confidently.

78th INDEPENDENCE DAY OF INDIA CELEBRATED AT G.H.P.S.KAROL BAGH WITH PATRIOTIC FERVOR With an aim to honor the sacrifices of countless freedom fighters of India and inculcate the love for the nation amongst the students , Guru Harkrishan Public School Karol Bagh celebrated 78th Independence Day of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic zeal on 13h of August,2024 in the school premises. The program was graced with the presence of school’s Chairman, S. Paramjit Singh Chandhok, Senior Vice Chairman, S. Jujhar Singh and other guests. The celebrations commenced with the soulful Shabad rendition by a group of students followed by Principal's address to the gathering in which she urged the students to grow up as responsible and conscientious citizens of India so that its glory keeps soaring high. Addressing the large gathering, the Chairman of the school expressed his heartiest greetings to all and urged everyone to build the nation with untiring diligence and unity. The unfurling of the flag was followed by a presentation on the supreme sacrifices of our great freedom fighters and the melodious rendition of patriotic song. It was a day of love and respect for the country instilling amongst the students the value and reverence for the gift of freedom by great freedom fighters of the country.
TREE PLANTATION DRIVE ORGANISED BY GHPS KAROL BAGH. With an aim to sensitise the students and their parents, about creating environmental awareness,a tree plantation drive was carried out by Guru Harkrishan by Public School Karol Bagh in the school premises and nearby areas on 9th of August,2024. The event started with the staff and the Principal of the school ,Ms. Jasvinder Kaur, apprising the students on the benefits of plants and their role in saving our environment. The special invitees of the event were school's Chairman,S. Paramjeet Singh Chandhok, Sr.Vice Chairman,S. Jujhar Singh Virk, and S.Parmeet Singh Hora, who distributed different types of sapling to the students and their parents. The saplings included Neem, Rose, holy Basil, drumsticks, Arjuna etc. The students participated in the tree plantation drive enthusiastically. The Chairman of the school encouraged the students to preserve the planet for future generations by planting more and more trees.
The Mango 🥭 party was done by little buddies of Nursery and KG .It was organised to celebrate the mango fruit because it is a favorite among young children due to its sweet taste.This activity helps children to learn about fruits and healthy eating. It provides an opportunity for interactive activities like mango themed craft,role play etc.
INVESTITURE CEREMONY CONDUCTED BY GHPS KAROL BAGH With an aim to recognise and felicitate the young and emerging leaders of tomorrow, G.H.P.S Karol Bagh organised the investiture ceremony on 25th of July,2024 in the school premises. By honoring the students with leadership positions,the school provided them with opportunity to develop essential leadership skills,values of hard work, dedication and positive behaviour. The ceremony was initiated by the introduction followed by the students' participation in swearing _in ceremony in which they pledged to uphold the values & principles of the school. The students were also given badges,tie, dupattas & Sashes. In the end ,the school chairman S Paramjit Singh Chandhok, Senior Vice chairman S Jujhar Singh and Principal of the school, Ms Jasvinder Kaur urged the selected team to lead by example so that the positive change could be inspired within the school community.
Rain Dance activity was done by little buddies of Nursery and KG at school Premises. The objective of this activity was to introduce young children to the concept of rain 🌧 through fun and interactive experience.This activity helps them learn about weather phenomena in a playful manner while promoting physical movements.
G.H.P.S KAROL BAGH CONDUCTS MOCK DRILL ACTIVITY FOR STUDENTS With an aim to educate and train the students for an unforeseen emergency like fire, earthquake or any natural calamity, GHPS Karol Bagh conducted a mock drill on 18th of July 2024. After sounding of the siren, the students, were asked to leave their classes and evacuated the school. All the students assembled near the ground where they were briefed about safety measures in case of any natural calamity. After that a group of students demonstrated their presentation on the safety rules in case of fire or earthquake emergency. The emphasis was given on the DROP COVER AND ROLL strategy. Also few emergency numbers that included disaster management services, Fire, Ambulance, Earthquake emergency numbers were also shared amongst the students. The do's and don'ts related to the use of fire extinguisher were also explained to the students.The mock drill gave the students a platform to learn about various safety measures in case of emergency
GURU HARKRISHAN PUBLIC SCHOOL KAROL BAGH CONDUCTS WORKSHOP ON ART INTEGRATION FOR TEACHERS IN SERVICE With an aim to develop understanding of "Arts" as a pedagogical tool and its impact on the holistic learning and development of every learner ,a workshop on art integration was conducted for the teachers of Guru Harkrishan Public School Karol Bagh on 15th of July, 2024 in the school premises. The workshop was started by the welcome address by the Principal of the the school Ms. Jasvinder Kaur, in which she highlighted the significance of Art Integration in education as a milestone to connect to 21st century skills. The resource persons Mr. Neeraj Tyagi, Director _ Principal of Pushp World School & Mother Pride, Gannaur and Ms. Rajani Ashat, Rtd. Principal of R. R. J. S. DAV Public School Haily ,Mandi Gurgaon .explained in depth the objectives of incorporating art into pedagogical process. The teachers were briefed about various approaches to art activities and art forms which included visual art, performing arts, language arts and culinary arts and various NCERT designed materials & resources for art integration.The subject wise teachers divided into various groups, executed different art integrated learning tasks. The workshop gave the teachers a platform to have deep insight into various forms of arts for better understanding of concepts. All the teachers gave their valuable inputs in preparing the pedagogical planners so that the objectives of art integrated teaching and learning could be achieved. The event witnessed a huge number of enthusiastic parents who were briefed about their wards' academic performance by the class as well as subject teachers. It started with melodious shabad rendition by the students of senior segment _ " Sajna Sant Aao Mere" followed by Ardas and Hukamnama. The Divinity teacher,Mrs. Parvinder Kaur threw light on the great life and contribution of Guru Arjan Dev Ji i.e the compilation of Adi Granth Sahib and the construction of Sri Harmandir Sahib. A senior student also enlightened the students as to how the four doors of the Darbar Sahib signify the universal brotherhood of mankind.
GHPS KAROL BAGH ORGANISES NURSERY PARENTS ORIENTATION PROGRAM. With an aim to familiarize the parents of the newly admitted tiny tots ,with the school's teaching methodologies and co scholastic activities as parents in progress, Guru Harkrishan Public School Karol Bagh organised Nursery Orientation Program for the parents on 10th of April,2024. The program gave a platform to both teachers and parents for open communication, mutual respect and a clear understanding of what is best for a child. The program commenced with a Shabad rendition by the students of Primary Segment followed by a warm welcome to the parents by a welcome song.The Principal of the school .Mrs Jasvinder Kaur addressed the parents by showing a comprehensive Power Point Presentation on the plethora of activities done by the students of Pre Primary and primary segment in the previous year year. Parents were made aware of special efforts done by the school to enhance learning amongst the students. She also laid emphasis on the active involvement of parents in the upbringing of their wards and on active synergy among parents and teachers for the holistic development of the child. Mrs. Mandeep Kaur also familiarize the parents of the teachings pattern and activities to educate the children. She further accentuated the thought " A parent is a teacher at home and a teacher is a parent in school and the child is the centre of our universe."The attraction of the day was Bhangra & Gidda performance by the tiny tots. The program ended with a question answers session in which the parents interacted with the teachers.
GHPS KAROL BAGH CONDUCTS SPECIAL MORNING ASSEMBLY DEDICATED TO THE PRAKASH PURAB OF GURU TEGH BAHADAR SAHIB With an aim to enlighten the students about the great life and contribution of Guru Tegh Bahadar Sahib,a special morning assembly was conducted for the students of middle and senior segment on 24th of April,2024. It started with melodious shabad rendition by the students of senior segment: " Kahe re ban khojan jaee" followed by Ardas and Hukumnma. Addressing the assembly of the students,the Punjabi Teacher threw light on his life and great contribution. She explained how Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib sacrificed his own life to protect the honour of Kashmiri Pandits. Moreover, Japneet Kaur of class 10 also recited a poem on the incredible martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib.
The children of Nursery and KG classes celebrated Earth Day on April 22nd. They planted saplings in small pots, did coloring, and participated in a group painting activity focused on Earth. The main aim of the celebration was to instill in them the importance of planting more trees, saying no to plastic, using paper bags, and stopping pollution. The day was celebrated with great zeal.
GHPS KAROL BAGH ORGANISES PERSONAL HYGIENE AWARENESS WORKSHOP In association with Procter & Gamble, GHPS Karol Bagh organised a personal hygiene awareness program on 15th of April 2024 in which the students (girls) of Grade V to VIII learnt about the importance of personal hygiene. They learnt facts and scientific reasons behind the good personal hygiene. The aim of the program was to have a healthy discussion about personal hygiene and to make girls realise to share their deep seated doubts and fears in a healthy, comfortable and open environment. It was a very intersting and educative workshop
GHPS KAROL BAGH ORGANISES TURBAN TYING COMPETITION. With an aim to promote love for 'Dastar', that represents equality, honour,self respect, courage,spirituality and piety, the turban tying competition was organised for the students of GHPS Karol Bagh on 10th of April,2024 in the school premises. The competition was dedicated to the 'Khalsa Sirjana Divas', an epitome of universal brotherhood. The students from classes 6 to 12 participated wholeheartedly. The students showed different styles and shapes which were quite worth watching. The judgement criteria was based on perfection, timing,shape and style of wearing. The competition was a great initiative to introduce the students to the rich cultural heritage of Sikhism.
GHPS KAROL BAGH ORGANISES RETIREMENT CELEBRATIONS FOR THE T.G.T. Hindi Teacher AND T.G.T ART TEACHER WTH GREAT ENTHUSIASM. The farewell ceremony of Mrs. Aruna Mishra,the H. O. D of Hindi Department and Art teacher ,Ms. Raj Kumari was organised in the school premises by the staff of GHPS Karol Bagh on 28th of March, 2024 The program was graced with the presence of School's Chairman, S. Paramjit Singh Chandhok, Sr. Vice Chairman, S. Jujhar Singh. The programme started with a welcome address to both the teachers & their family members followed by detailed description of their professional excellences in the forms of Laureles won by them for the school. They were presented with the bouquets of flowers, shawls , cash amount and other gifts as a token of love from the staff members. Addressing the gathering of the staff, the Principal of the school, Mrs. Jasvinder Kaur congratulated and appreciated their contributions to the growth of the school. She further called them as the key pillars of the institution whose contributions would always be remembered.The Chairman of the school, S. Paramjit Singh Chandhok appreciated their excellent performance and wished them good luck for the next phase of their lives. Good bye sentiments were expressed by heart touching songs by the teachers and other staff members. It was started with the melodious shabad rendition "wah wah Gobind Singh aape gur chela" followed by Ardas and Hukumnama. A special talk was also delivered on the importance of Vaisakhi as well as 'Khalsa Sirjana Divas' by a senior student. The importance of unity in diversity was also emphasized as this event is celebrated under various names throughout India.
Tribute paid to the Martyrdom of Chaar Sahibzade To pay homage and spread awareness regarding the supreme sacrifices of Four Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, various activities were conducted in Guru Harkrishan Public School, Karol Bagh which started from 21.12.23 to 28.12.23. The history of Safar - e - Shahadat was narrated through the medium of Sakhis and Poems. On 26.12.23 the family of the school joined the Prime Minister of India at Bharat Mandapam to commemorate the event. Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi said on Tuesday that Sikh gurus have taught Indians to live for the glory of their land and served as an inspiration to make the country better and developed. Speaking at a "Veer Bal Diwas" event to commemorate the martyrdom of two sons of Guru Gobind Singh. Showing devotion to the Chote Sahibzades , the school chanted the holy path of Mool Mantar Sahib for 10 minutes from 10:00 am on 28.12.23 . Week filled with spiritual activities was conducted in the premises of the school which taught the future torch bearers ( our students) the moral of laying down lives for defending faith and country was experienced by each and every member of Guru Harkrishan Public School, Karol Bagh
GHPS KAROL BAGH PARTICIPATES IN VEER BAL DIWAS PROGRAM With an aim to honour the indomitable valour and incredible sacrifice laid down by the young sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji _ Baba Zoravar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh ji, Veer Bal Diwas Program was organised by the Govt. Of India in association with D.S.G.M.C.at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, on 26th of December,2023 in which the students of G.H.P.S. Karol Bagh participated in march past as well as kirtan performance with great devotion. The program was graced with the presence of the honourable Prime Minister of India,Mr.Narendra Modi as the chief guest of the program and other dignitaries from D.S.G.M.C. Addressing the large gathering of the students and other visitors,the Prime Minister remarked," The day reminds us that the age does not matter when it comes to heights of bravery." After listening to the divine rendition of shabad kirtan performed by hundred of students ,he urged everyone to emulate the exemplary patriotism shown by the young sons. He also flagged off a march past in which hundreds of students participated with great enthusiasm. It was a day of inspiration for one and all.
Guru Harkrishan Public School Karol Bagh participated in grand Nagar Kirtan on the eve of Martyrdom Day of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib conducted by D.S.G.M.C on 17th of December,2023. A large number of sikh devotees gathered at Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib to pay obeisance to the holy place. Led by Panj Piyaras, the procession comprising of devotees from various places , school children and Gatka organizations, started from Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib with deep devotion. The school students and other groups of devotees recited shabads composed by Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib who sacrificed his life for religious independence and for the protection of human rights. The decorated nagar kirtan, was received with great warmness by the sangat at various locations.The participation in Nagar Kirtan gave everyone a chance to know the incredible history of martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib.
PORTRAYAL OF CREATIVITY SHOWN AT THE ART AND CRAFT & SCIENCE EXHIBITION IN GHPS KAROL BAGH Art is as natural as sunshine and as vital as nourishment On the occasion of Parent Teachers Meeting, Guru Harkrishan Public School Karol Bagh conducted an excellent Art and Craft & Science Exhibition on 9th of December, 2023. The budding artists of the school poured out their creativity and talents at the art and craft and science exhibition with great amount of enthusiasm by presenting beautiful and colourful sketches of magnificent paintings of Applied Art, Silhouette Paintings, Warli Paintings Glass Paintings, Paper Crafts, Wall hangings,Flower Making ,Clay Modelling and awesome Pencil Shading Work. In the Science exhibition, the live demo was conducted on how to utilise the energy of heat convection and portable electric fan. The students also carried out role play on birds. Awareness on Chandrayan3 was also highlighted . The beautiful charts and models on pinhole photography, benefits of alkaline and acidic foods was displayed. The students of Primary wing also poured out their creativity in presenting beautiful charts and models on soluble and insoluble, weather wheel, Air and its weight Chipko movement, different pots and their uses and properties of conductor and indulator.The event was graced with the presence of school 's Chairman, S. Paramjit Singh Chandhok and Vice Chairman,S. Jujhar Singh The Principal along with the Chairman of the school, surveyed the entire exhibition and took details from the respective students about each of their presentation. DSGMC Participation of GHPS Karol Bagh in the exhibition for the promotion of Punjabi language organized by Gurdwara Bangla Sahib In an effort to create awareness about the importance of Punjabi language and its rich heritage, students of GHPS Karol Bagh, along with Punjabi teachers, displayed beautiful slogans along with pictures on colorful charts to promote Punjabi language. Participated in an exhibition organized to promote Punjabi language. On November 23, 2023 in the premises of Gurdwara Bangla Sahib near Sarovar. The exhibition provided a platform for students to interact with people by engaging them in a quiz competition on the great Sikh heritage. The exhibition was witnessed in the presence of the President and his entire team who monitored the activities of the students and appreciated their efforts. The guests enthusiastically participated in the activities and also participated in the signature campaign with their suggestions and appreciation on the suggestion board. It was a great learning experience for one and all.

The Nukkad Natak gave the students a platform to sensitise the general public about the ill effects of crackers and the problem of pollution. The beautiful message of tree plantation drive delivered by the students touched the heart of the people. It is rightly said, if we plant a tree,we will plant hope as tree are the lungs of earth. The champion of G.H.PS Karol Bagh,Shivam of class 9B,made his school proud by winning second position in Inter GHPS Chess Competition held at GHPS KalkaJi on 2nd of November,2023. The competition gave all the participants a platform to hone their critical thinking and problem solving skills. It was very heart warming to see all the students playing their moves like stalwarts with rapt concentration. The winners were congratulated by the President of D.S.G.M.C. S.Harmeet Singh Kalka.
The school organised a picnic to the Rail Museum on the 17 th of October 2023 for the tiny tots of Pre Nursery and Nursery class .It was a day filled with fun and frolic from the very beginning, children danced to peppy numbers to and fro.They enjoyed every moment of the day.Taking a round of the museum, watching models of train was very exciting. The most attractive activity of the day was the joy ride in the toy train.Lunch with the peer group in the park was thoroughly enjoyed by one and all. The day was fully enjoyed by children.
After the hectic schedule of Terminal Exams, an adventurous trip to Adventure Island was organised for the students of GHPS Karol Bagh on 16th of October, 2023. The picnic provided the students a great opportunity to cherish wonderful experience of joy and bliss. Paramjit Singh Chandhok, S. Jujhar Singh, Sr. Vice Chairman, and S. Parmeet Singh Hora, member of management committee. It was an attempt to honour the role and contribution of grandparents' in the lives of their grandchildren.The function started with the shabad rendition by the students of Primary Segment follwed by welcome song dance by the tiny tots who enthralled the audience with their magnificent performance. KUDOS TO THE SHINING STARS OF GHPS KAROL The students of GHPS Karol Bagh added another feather to their caps by winning the meritorious first position in the Inter GHPS Hindi Poem Recitation Competition and the third position in Hindi Essay Writing Competition at Zonal level. The first competition was organised in the school premises on 28th of August, 2023 where the students of 12 branches of GHPS participated enthusiastically. The theme of the contest was "Svatantrata". Kangna of class VIII - B won 1st position. The second competition- Hindi Zonal Essay writing competition for Jr. Boys was held at Salwan Public School( Boys), Old Rajender Nagar where thirteen teams participated on 18th of August, 2023. Delhi Sikh Management Committee conducted a 35 Gurmukhi Alphabets competition on a large scale on 18/8/23 Students defined their beautiful ideas through 35 Gurmukhi alphabet rules, beautiful charts, pictures and slogans. All the material created by the students were put up as an exhibition . Students who defined thirty-five Gurmukhi Alphabets well in this competition were awarded state level, first, second, third place and consolation prizes. From the Junior group of Guru Harikshan Public School Karol Bagh, Devansh Dotanya of second class was awarded the 3rd position in all GHPS school . From GHPS KAROL BAGH , first place was awarded to Devansh Dotanya of second class second place to Manan of first class & the third place to Hitesh Malik of third class and Bani Preet of fifth class was awarded the consolation prize. . The program was graced with the presence of school’s Chairman, S. Paramjit Singh Chandhok, Sr. Vice Chairman, S. Jujhar Singh and S. Parmeet Singh Hora. GHPS KAROL BAGH Conducts TREE PLANTATION DRIVE With an aim to create awareness among the young generation and to prevent damage from deforestation, a tree plantation drive was conducted by the students of GHPS Karol Bagh on 14th of August, 2023. The students planted various medicinal saplings that included Neem, Aloe Vera, basil, Thyme etc. along with other trees. The Chairman of the school, S. Paramjit Singh Chandhok, Sr.Vice Chairman S Jujhar Singh, SMC member S Parmeet Singh Hora and the Principal monitored the tree plantation activity. They also sensitised the students about the importance of greenery for making the world more feasible. The students also pledged to plant at least one tree on their birthday. It was very enriching experience for one and all.
Hindi Poem Recitation Competition In the vibrant and culturally enriched atmosphere, Hindi Poem Recitation Competition was organised in Guru Harkrishan Public School, Karol Bagh on 7 August, 2023. Students of Classes VI - VIII enthusiastically prepared for the event under the guidance of their teachers. The competition provided the children an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence on stage. Career and Guidance Workshop Conducting a Career and Guidance Workshop in schools is a crucial initiative to help students decide their future and assist them in the choice of subjects. In pursuit of the same, a Career Counselling Workshop was organized in Guru Harkrishan Public School, Karol Bagh for the classes XI and XII on 4 August,2023. The workshop aims to provide valuable insights into various career paths, equip students with essential skills, and foster self-awareness. The session was organized by The School Management in collaboration with UPES University Uttarakhand. GURU HARKRISHAN PUBLIC SCHOOL KAROL BAGH CONDUCTS WORKSHOP ON ART INTEGRATED LEARNING FOR TEACHERS IN SERVICE With an aim to introduce students to active learning through various forms of art, a workshop on art integrated learning and projects, was conducted for the teachers of Guru Harkrishan Public School Karol Bagh on 10th of July, 2023 in the school premises. The resource person, Ms. Savita Minocha explained in depth the objectives of incorporating art into pedagogical process The teachers were briefed about various approaches to art activities and art forms which included visual art, performing arts, language arts and culinary arts. All teachers used valuable inputs provided by resource person in preparing the pedagogical planners so as the objectives of art integrated teaching and learning pedagogy in the CBSE Circular No. 54, dated 25/4/2023, could be achieved. Art activities related to interdisciplinary projects were also planned by the concerned subject teachers under guidance of faculty heads.

With a view to create a common platform where teachers and parents come together to discuss about students' performance and devise ways to enrich their learning experiences, a parent teacher meeting was organised by GHPS Karol Bagh on 20th of May, 2023. The day was very special as it witnessed several other events organised in the school premises. The day was started with the recitation of Sukhmani Sahib Path by the staff of the school..Seeking the blessing of the Almighty, the staff prayed for the high morale & wellbeing of all. The general public was served with Chabeel Langar The first event was Award Ceremony sponsored by LIC of India. It gave the students a platform to feel appreciated and recognised for their outstanding performance which was applauded and rewarded for their sincere efforts during the previous academic year. The award ceremony was started with the shabad rendition followed by welcome address. The school honoured all the achievers with trophies and certificates for having attained a sterling records both in scholastic and co scholastic domain. Addressing the large gathering, the Principal of the school, Ms. Jasvinder Kaur motivated the winners to get on with their winning attitude. The Chairman of the school, S. The students also shared various healthy lifestyle tips to the general public for their overall well being.
AWARENESS WORKSHOP ON HOW LIFE STYLE IMPACTS THE ENVIRONMENT HELD AT GHPS KAROL BAGH With an aim to educate and sensitise the students about the responsible consumption of the resources and its impacts on environment, an awareness workshop on "how life style impacts the environment was conducted by a Science teacher, Ms. Savita for the students of classes IV & V on 16th of May 2023. The workshop gave the students a platform to understand how right lifestyle choices can pave the way for everyone to live better and lighter by saving the environment. The workshop was started by an interactive session with the students and their roles in saving the environment. Through the power point presentation, they were shown some pics and videos of increasing environmental challenges, i. e deforestation, droughts, climate changes, global warming and water scarcity. Then the students were taught to switch off all the appliances and lights when not in use. They were further, taught about the judicious use of water, i. e to properly close the taps after the use and to use water sparingly. It was a great learning experience for the students
With an aim to develop love for reading as well as to hone the communication skills of the students, an inter house English Reading as well as English Extempore Competition was organised by GHPS Karol Bagh on 15th of May, 2023 for the students of classes VIto VIII as well as classes IX to XII respectively. The students were handed out different pages of reading material which they had to read within the assigned time. They were assessed on the basis of four main parameters, i.e Content, Intonation, Voice Modulation and Stress. In the English extempore competition, the students from senior segment participated enthusiastically by picking up a slip from a bowl of slips and spoke confidently on the assigned topic. Special Morning Assembly On G20 Summit Conducted In GHPS KAROL BAGH With a view to educate and sensitise students about the G20 Summit and it's significance under India's presidency, Guru Harkrishan Public School Karol Bagh conducted a special morning assembly on G20 Summit on 9th of May, 2023. It was started with a school prayer followed by poem recitations as well as talks delivered by the students with the props in their hands which highlighted India's vision to promote universal sense of oneness by carrying out environmentally conscious practices and sustainable way of living. Dedicated to 400th Prakash Purab of Guru Tegh Bahadar Sahib ji, Inter GHPS Gurmat Quiz was organized by DSGMC for two days, i.e from 27.4.23 to 28.4.23 at lakhi Shah Vanjara Hall, Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib. The program was started with a Shabad rendition followed by a brief introduction about the rules of the quiz. The program was graced with the presence of S. Jagdeep Singh Kahlon General Secretary of DSGMC and S. Jaspreet Singh Karamsar, the Chairman, Dharam Prachaar Committee. The eleven teams of GHPS participated in the quiz. The questions were based on the teachings of Guru Tegh bahadur Sahib, and various Sikh Martyrs and Sikh History The quiz gave the students a platform to gain deeper understanding of the Sikh History and tradition. The students of GHPS Karol Bagh branch got consolation prize which included momentoes, certificates and a cash prize of Rs 1100. It was a great learning experience for one and all.
Celebration of Labour Day May 1st is celebrated as International Labour DAY. The students of Guru Harkrishan Public School Karol Bagh, celebrated the Labour Day on 1st of May, 2023 with a special assembly to express their gratitude. The students were enlightened about how the contribution of labour plays an integral part in the smooth functioning of the society. A workshop on “Innovative Methods of Teaching Mathematics” was conducted for classes VIII and IX on 3 Feb,2023 in Guru Harkrishan Public School, Karol Bagh. The workshop was a framework that allowed students to learn new maths content each day and practise maths strategies in a variety of ways. The workshop equipped students with array of activities and make the Subject - Mathematics more interesting and enjoyable. The facilitators has a brilliant technical and pedagogical knowledge which made the workshop more informative for the students. They learned math through cutting-edge 2D and 3D animated videos. School Principal, Ms. Jasvinder Kaur appreciated the efforts taken by the presenters and emphasised on the importance of Mathematics and should make it more engaging and accessible to the students.
With a motive to improve in teachers preparation and professional development, a three days workshop on effective classroom management strategies was conducted by Mrs. Mandeep Kaur, a senior teacher of Guru Harkrishan Public School Karol Bagh. The day one was dedicated to the collective discussion on the importance of classroom management and its components, structuring the school and classroom environment, teacher student bonding, employing active supervision of students' engagement, rules and routines, enacting procedures to encourage appropriate behaviour. The day two was dedicated to the implementation of various strategies wherein the teachers were divided into various groups for carrying out the activities of effective learning environment by using rules, procedures and routines. The school organised an educational trip to The Traffic Training Park, Punjabi bagh and McDonald's. The purpose was to provide the learners with an exposure to Neighborhood places and inculcate the traffic rules. It was a fun filled day, students were enthusiasm and frolic from the very beginning. Students were told about the traffic rules,Use of zebra crossing, Traffic light .The helicopter and train in the premises brought a smile on little faces. Good Touch Bad Touch & Bullying Report During the week 14 November 2022 - 18 November 2022, the students of primary classes were made familiar with the concept of different types of ‘touch’. It was initiated by asking the students about the different types of touches they know of and how to categorise varied touches as a ‘good touch’ or a ‘bad touch’. With the help of a powerpoint presentation students learned to clearly differentiate between a safe touch (good touch) and an unsafe touch (bad touch) through examples of different touches we encounter in our day to day lives. Students were asked about people around whom they feel safe and comfortable and people whose touch would make them feel uncomfortable. They were thoroughly made aware of their body anatomy along with parts of the body that can be and cannot be touched by different people. By the means of routine activities such as shaking hands and greeting friends and daily members by hugging students experienced good touch and bad touch. Another important awareness imparted to students was about ‘bullying’. The students were asked about their understanding of the word “BULLY”. To educate and train the students for an unforeseen emergency like fire earthquake or any natural calamity, GHPS Karol Bagh conducted a mock drill on 4th of October,2022 After sounding of the siren, the students, were asked to leave their classes and evacuated the school. All the students assembled near the ground and their attendance was also marked. After that a group of students demonstrated their presentation on the safety rules in case of fire or earthquake emergency. The emphasis was given on the DROP COVER AND ROLL strategy. Salute to Our Roots on Grand Parents Day 19 September 2022 To honour the unconditional love ushered by the eldest members of the family, the students of Guru Harkrishan Public School, Karol Bagh celebrated Grandparents Day with abundance of respect and admiration. Health and Wellness exhibition in GHPS, Karol Bagh Hosting a healthy and wellness exhibition at school is a great way to share information with students, staff, families and the community about leading a healthy lifestyle. Keeping this in mind, Guru Harkrishan Public School, Karol Bagh conducted an exhibition on 18th May 2019 in the school premises. Representation of POCSO through KOMAL – a short film on Child Sexual Abuse at Guru Harkrishan Public School, Karol Bagh May 10, 2019 Friday: It was another bright day when the students of classes I to XII of Guru Harkrishan Public School, Karol Bagh congregated to witness a short film on Child Sexual Offence. In order to create awareness about sexual exploitation among the school children and to sensitize them about the inappropriate (bad) touch, short film “Komal” was screened today in the school. The film has won the National Film Award in the category of best educational film. Students were also briefed about the actions they should take if any such incident ever happens with them. VISIT TO NATIONAL SCIENCE CENTRE ORGANISED BY GHPS KAROL BAGH “Science is the Poetry of Reality” said ‘Richard Dawkins’. Keeping in view the aspiration of an interface with Science and its activities, we planned a visit to the National Science Centre as an educational trip on 08-05-2019 for Classes VI to X. The students were spell bound to see an array of magic tricks. The Science Centre provided a whole world of wonder and amazement with 137 interactive “hands on exhibits”. The students were excited to observe certain exhibits. Wrestling the gorilla arm, virtual make up, find the direction of sound, walking through the mirror maze, infinity well, animated dinosaurs, responding to electric stock, lifting a lid against an electromagnet caught the attention of students instantly. A visit to NSCM is a great way to arouse curiosity in the minds of school students. Possibly even helping build an initiation amongst us into the field. It started with the shabad rendition by the students of Primary Segment – “Deh shiva bar mohe ee hai” which was followed by a talk on the importance of ‘Khalsa Sirjana Divas’. 4th of April 2019 was the first day of the preschoolers at GHPS Karol Bagh. The toddlers were welcomed by the Principal, Head Mistress and their Class Teachers. Career Guidance Fair is organized by DSGMC on November 2, 2018 and November 3, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 4.00 pm at Lakhi Shah Vanjara Hall, Guduwara Rakab Ganj Sahib. Many renowned Indian and foreign universities participated in the fair. Students of Senior Segment (CLASSES IX TO XII) from our school visited the fair. With an aim to spread awareness about fire crackers causing noise and air pollution and numerous health hazards to human beings and animals, students of Guru Harkrishan Public School, Karol Bagh launched a campaign against fire crackers in the school premises. Students were made aware about the poor air quality in Delhi – NCR and ill-effect of crackers through Power Point Presentations. Special lectures were also delivered in the classes. The students at length were also the main participants. They added their perspective which indicated that they were also aware about the increase in the pollution level even days after Diwali. Moods and Melodies celebration was organized by G. H. P. S. Karol Bagh for the students of Pre-nursery and Nursery on 30th of October, 2018. School Picnic Organised By GHPS Karol Bagh To give the students some sunshine, freedom and play time, the school picnic was arranged for the students of Pre-nursery to Grade 2 by GHPS Karol Bagh on 5th October 2018. The students were taken to National BAL Bhawan located at kotla Road near I.T.O New Delhi. Apart from enjoying various swings, slides and mari-go-round slides, the toy train was the star attraction for the students. The laughter and joy that was witnessed amongst the children was something beyond words. Later they were taken to Gurudwara Mata Sundri Ji where they recited the Mool Mantra and meditated also and then the Langar was served to them. They were taken back to school safely by 1:30pm. The picnic was much needed break from the regular schedule of the students in school and the children made the best out of the day.

Under her guidance and leadership the interactive session on various topics of Genetics, Biotechnology, Environmental issues, Reproductive Biology and diseases was conducted which offered a real insight into the subject matter. The resource person provided valuable inputs not only in the field of Biology but also in teaching methodologies to make teaching learning process a success. She has explained the importance of two way communication in classroom, generating interest and curiosity, eye to eye contact etc. to make learning process effective. She also suggested various strategies like customised syllabus for weak students, use of interesting teaching aids (like videos), individual attention to all students and differentiation to achieve academic excellence. The workshop provided excellent platform to the teachers to share their experiences and also offered them an opportunity to learn from each other too. All participants showed their keen desire to implement the learning of the workshop in their class teaching.
Inter GHPS Solo Singing Competition at GURU HARKRISHAN PUBLIC SCHOOL, KAROL BAGH November 22, 2017; Wednesday: Continuing the promotion of inculcating the co-scholastic skills in the students, the Management of Guru Harkrishan Public Schools (New Delhi), Society made another attempt to provide an exuberant platform for the budding musicians of the schools wherein they got an opportunity to exhibit their vocal talent by participating in the “Inter GHPS Solo Singing Competition” held at Guru Harkrishan Public School, Karol Bagh on November 22, 2017. The programme began with the singing of school shabad by the music choir, followed by Welcome speech by Mrs.Jasvinder Kaur Mehon – School Principal, S. Paramjit Singh ji Rana – Chairman Dharam Prachar Committee – Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee cum Councellor MCD and S. Harvinderjit Singh Ji Raja - Manager Guru Harkrishan Public School, Karol Bagh were present to witness the event and inspire the participants. In his motivational speech S Paramjit Singh ji Rana congratulated the Management and Principal of the school who were instrumental in meticulously planning and executing the event. He urged to spread the concept of communion with God – by making every child learn to render Ardaas and recite shabads. The students of the eleven branches of Guru Harkrishan Public Schools gave awe inspiring presentations in the form of Geet, Gazalas and Shabads which had left the audiance spell bound. Simranpreet Kaur of class XII from GHPS – Fateh Nagar won the first position, Manpreet Kaur of class XI from GHPS Karol Bagh was awarded with the Second position and Manpreet Kaur – a student of class XII of Tilak Vihar got the Third position. The programme was concluded by giving token of appreciation to the winners by S. Harvinderjit Singh ji Raja and Mrs. Jasvinder Kaur Mehon along with the vote of thanks.
Senior students of Guru Harkrishan Public School, Karol Bagh participated in shabad kirtan competition at 19 Satguru Ram Singh ji Kirtan Contest held at Bishan Singh Memorial School on november 21,2017. GHPS KAROL BAGH attends Career Guidance Fair 2017 November 29, Wednesday The senior classes ( from 10 to 12) of GHPS KAROL BAGH attended the Career Guidance Fair held at Bhai Lakhi Shah Vanjara Hall Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib. The fair was organised by Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee. Various prestigious Education Institutes like IGNOU, PTU, Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University set up their stalls. GHPS KAROL BAGH Conducts Mock Drill on 'Disaster Management' December 14, 2017 Thursday In continuation with the exercise to create awareness among students about disaster management, a mock drill on'Earth Quake and Fire Hazard' was conducted today in GHPS Karol Bagh. To enhance the preparedness of the students to handle the fallout of natural disaster and fire incident, exercise of Drop, Cover,Hold was done by them in their respective classes after the first bell at 12.10 p.m. After the drill, evacuation operation was conducted on the second bell i.e. at 12.13 p.m. During this operation students were escorted by their subject teachers to the assembly ground where heads were counted by their respective class teachers. The students were acquainted with safety measures through demonstration during Earth Quake and Fire Hazard. The evacuation drill was executed in 3 minutes 53 seconds.
