Description : Good Touch Bad Touch & Bullying Report During the week 14 November 2022 - 18 November 2022, the students of primary classes were made familiar with the concept of different types of ‘touch’. It was initiated by asking the students about the different types of touches they know of and how to categorise varied touches as a ‘good touch’ or a ‘bad touch’. With the help of a powerpoint presentation students learned to clearly differentiate between a safe touch (good touch) and an unsafe touch (bad touch) through examples of different touches we encounter in our day to day lives. Students were asked about people around whom they feel safe and comfortable and people whose touch would make them feel uncomfortable. They were thoroughly made aware of their body anatomy along with parts of the body that can be and cannot be touched by different people. By the means of routine activities such as shaking hands and greeting friends and daily members by hugging students experienced good touch and bad touch. Another important awareness imparted to students was about ‘bullying’. The students were asked about their understanding of the word “BULLY”. They were then acquainted with the term through definition and explanation of the concept of bullying. They were told about different forms of bullying (physical, verbal and social). They were told about how it is wrong to be either a participant, victim or bystander in the situation of being bullied or getting bullied. Students were also told about the ways in which they can be of help to the victims of bullying by informing their teachers or parents and how to deal with such a situation on individual basis.
