Description :With an aim to spread awareness about fire crackers causing noise and air pollution and numerous health hazards to human beings and animals, students of Guru Harkrishan Public School, Karol Bagh launched a campaign against fire crackers in the school premises. Students were made aware about the poor air quality in Delhi – NCR and ill-effect of crackers through Power Point Presentations. Special lectures were also delivered in the classes. The students at length were also the main participants. They added their perspective which indicated that they were also aware about the increase in the pollution level even days after Diwali. School Principal Mrs. Jasvinder Kaur sensitized students about ill effects of crackers. She inspired students to celebrate a ‘Clean and green Diwali’. The harmful effects of crackers to health and environment were brought to the forefront by the staff also with a request to all to celebrate this Diwali in an eco-friendly manner.
